We bring all the necessary materials, pack every room systematically and leave your space ready for the truck. Full-service packing suits customers who want to hand off packing entirely, including families moving a three- or four-bedroom house with our residential moving team.
If you’ve already packed some areas of your home but need help with specific rooms, floors or categories of items, partial packing puts our team exactly where you need it. Kitchens, home offices and garages are common choices because they hold the most fragile or awkward items. Partial packing also works well for one- and two-bedroom moves with our apartment movers.
Some items need more than standard technique. Our team packs fine china, glassware, artwork, mirrors, sculptures, antiques and electronics with individual wrapping and padded boxes sized to the item. Summer in Phoenix changes how some belongings should be packed and moved. A closed truck, garage or storage unit heats up quickly in July and August, and some items do not tolerate it well. Planning for the heat is part of packing a Valley home.
These can melt and stain everything around them. Pack them together in a sealed bin and carry them in your air-conditioned car.
Heat can warp records and stick prints together. Pack records upright and keep photo albums with you.

These should never ride in the truck. Keep them in your “do not pack” area and take them with you.
Spray cans, propane and fuel are hazardous in a hot truck. Use them up, give them away or dispose of them safely before moving day, and ask us about anything you are unsure of when you request your quote.
From May through September, ask for the earliest start time available so the heaviest work happens before the afternoon heat. Keep the air conditioning running in the house on packing and moving day, because doors left open for loading warm a home quickly. If your closing dates do not line up, packed boxes can go into short-term storage until your new home is ready.

Yes. Partial packing lets you choose exactly what our team handles, such as the kitchen, a home office, artwork or a few fragile pieces, while you pack the rest. It works well for one- and two-bedroom apartments where most belongings are easy to box but dishes and glassware need professional wrapping. Tell us which rooms or items you want packed when you request your quote.
Decide what you are not taking first, then set aside a closed room or closet for anything that should not be packed: keys, documents, medications, chargers and valuables. Empty the fridge, finish laundry and dishes, and point out fragile items when you request your quote. Reserve elevator or loading space with your building or HOA, and arrange care for pets and young children on packing day.
Tipping is never required. If you would like to thank the crew, many customers tip each packer individually based on the length of the job, the number of fragile items and the care shown. On a hot Phoenix day, cold water and a short break in an air-conditioned room are always appreciated too.

Yes. Our unpacking team takes your belongings out of their boxes and places them in their designated rooms, so your new home is usable sooner. Because every box we pack is labeled with its contents and destination room, unpacking goes quickly. Add unpacking to your quote for the whole house or only the rooms you want help with, such as the kitchen and bedrooms.
Yes. Packing services from Jones Moving & Storage are available as a standalone service or as part of a full-service move. Some customers book packing only because they are moving with a portable container or rental truck, and our crew can load it for them too. Others add packing to a local or long-distance move. Either way, you get the same trained packers and quality materials.
We recommend booking 4 to 6 weeks ahead for local moves and 6 to 8 weeks ahead for long-distance moves. Shorter timelines can often be accommodated when the schedule allows, so call even if your date is close. Weekend moves are available, and our office is open Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and weekends from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm.
